Last night Abbey National entered a team in an event at the Raceway, Kings Cross. It was a most enjoyable event comprising of 15 teams from different companies.

Abbey Qualified 2nd less than 0.05 off pole!

Soon after the race got under way Abbey took the lead and opened up a small gap, then the first driver changes came into play.

Abbey maintain the lead through the first changes and start to open up good lead. Whilst attempting to pass a back marker, who had been blue flagged, collided, Black Flag for Abbey!? Thankfully Abbey's lead was good enough to take the penalty and maintain the lead.

Next round of Driver changes: "Abbey speeding in the pit lane" one lap deducted! now were dropped to third.

We continued to push hard and made all our remaining driver changes in a very short time leaving our best driver on track.

Only 10 mins to go and we are a lap down and third, however all our driver changes were complete and the others still had 2 to go, within 5 mins it had all changed around and we now had a 19 second lead and it proved enough to secure victory.

This track was an excellent track and we would like to consider having a couple of Club events there, if you think you would like to have a go please let me know, I know that London would mean some travelling for most of us so please let me know what sort of day would suit you most, perhaps a Saturday?

I have to say that I thought their Karts were excellent and not one kart failure as far as I could see, they all seemed very well matched too.
